This is a test site. It is up so Chris can see it working. The name is a working title, nothing is reviewed yet, and sign-up is not built: downloads are open to everyone for now and the sign-up form does nothing. No advertising, no tracking, no cookies.

Heats and lanes generator

Paste your list in, choose your lanes and events, and print. You get a heat sheet per heat with the lane numbers already filled in, a marshal’s master sheet per event, one overall master sheet, and result slips.

Names stay on your computer. This page does the whole job inside your browser. No name you type is sent to us or to anyone else, and nothing is saved on our website. Close the page and it is gone.

So you can say that to a head teacher and mean it: this page makes no network requests after it has loaded, carries no analytics, advertising or third-party fonts, and keeps working with the wi-fi turned off. To keep your work through a page refresh it saves what you typed on this device only, under the storage name tl-heats-v1. Clear all names removes it.

1. The names
One name per line. Pasting two columns from a spreadsheet works too — the second column can be the house. “Surname, Forename” is treated as one name.

2. Houses

House names are free text — colours, places, founders, anything. Two to eight.

    3. Events

      4. How to draw it
Leave blank to fill every lane.
For latecomers written in by hand. 0 to 4.
The same seed and the same list always give the same sheets, so you can reprint one you have already photocopied. The seed is printed on every sheet.

      5. What to print

To save a PDF, choose Print and then “Save as PDF” as the printer. Print in black and white — the sheets are designed for it, and for surviving a photocopier.

      The sheets

      No names yet.

The generator asks for your house names, so the sheets come out in your houses. If that raises the question of tees in those colours, printed to order, the terms the office needs are on the for school offices page. Nothing about that appears on anything you print.
