Sports day — plan it in an afternoon
Free, classroom-ready resources for people who teach
Planning packs, printable sheets, letters home and browser-based tools for nursery and early years, primary, secondary, and college and university. Written for the adult doing the planning. No subscription, ever.
The sports day set
Five resources that between them cover a whole school sports day: the plan, the heats, the scoring, the certificates and the letter home.
-
Sports Day Planning Pack and Running Order
A six-week countdown, a jobs list by role, and a running order grid you can fill in and pin up.
-
Heats and Lanes Sheets
Paste your class or year group list in, get heat sheets with lane numbers, a marshal’s master sheet and blank result slips out.
-
Scoring Sheets and House Points Tracker
Per-event scoring sheets, a house totals sheet, and a spreadsheet that adds it all up for you.
-
Sports Day Certificates
Type or paste your names, pick a design, print a class set. Participation, first, second, third, personal best and team spirit.
-
Sports Day Parent Letter Template
An editable letter home: date, times, where to arrive, what to wear, sun cream, wet weather, photography wording and a reply slip.
Free tools that run on your own device
Both tools work entirely inside your browser. You can paste a class list in and nothing leaves your computer or tablet — no names are sent to us, saved, or counted.
-
Heats and lanes generator
Names in, heat sheets out, with lane numbers filled in, a marshal’s master sheet and blank result slips. Balances the heats across your houses.
-
Certificate generator
Paste names, choose participation, first, second, third, personal best or team spirit, print a class set one per page. Blank handwritable version included.
A free account, later
On the finished site a free account will keep track of what you have downloaded and send a monthly round-up if you want one. It is not built yet, so for now everything downloads without one. What the account will involve.
Who pays for this
The site is paid for by The Stitch Factory, which makes school uniform, printed house colour tees and children’s high-visibility vests. That is the whole arrangement: the resources are free and stay free, and there is one quiet line at the foot of the relevant resource pages pointing a school office at the products. No advertising on this test site, and no advertising on any public resource page on the finished one. More about how this works.
